SNF&L HISTORY
Salmon Falls Nursery & Landscaping, founded in 1978, began with humble roots and over the years has grown into one of Northern New England’s largest landscape firms.
Mark Pendergast, founder and owner, discovered his love of landscaping in high school and enrolled in college studies to pursue his interests. With an associate’s degree in plant and soil science, Mark came to Berwick, Maine with his growing family and settled on the banks of the Salmon Falls River.
Beginning as a retail garden center with residential design and install services, Salmon Falls Landscaping become an established business in the community. Through the years as the company has changed and grown, commercial services were added, which today is the largest division of the company. Mark has continued to build upon the company’s expertise by adding other divisions including irrigation services and landscape maintenance. Through it all, Mark’s commitment and involvement in the day-to-day operations remains unwavering.
Mark purchased land to start Salmon Falls Nursery in the early 1980s. Adding parcels over the years the nursery now totals 200 acres, with a wide variety and sizes of trees and shrubs.
Today, with a strong residential design and install department, commercial bid-build and maintenance division, and irrigation services Salmon Falls Nursery & Landscaping employs 90 staff members installing projects in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.
Mark and his staff would like to thank all those who have provided Salmon Falls with the support and patronage to become the company it is today.
